Pre-order Phantom Liberty here

The wait is almost over for Cyberpunk fans, and Phantom Liberty arrives in less than a week on 26 September. The new DLC will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (including Steam Deck). If you own the base game Cyberpunk 2077, you can grab Phantom Liberty for $29.99, and newcomers will be able to purchase a game bundle for $79.99.

In Phantom Liberty players return as cyber-enhanced mercenary V, teaming up with Solomon Reed to rescue the president of the New United States in a mission of espionage and survival. The spy-thriller adventure goes down in a new area called Dogtown, which CD Project RED describes as "a city-within-a-city run by a trigger-happy militia and ruled by a leader with an iron fist." The beloved Johnny Silverhand will be returning in Phantom liberty, played by the ever-popular Keanu Reeves.

The cinematic trailer features no other than Idris Elba, playing the role of FIA sleeper agent Solomon Reed. The trailer takes place seven years prior to the events of Phantom Liberty. Reed is betrayed and left for dead, but somehow survives the assault and joins V and Silverhand on their dangerous mission.

CD Projekt RED will also be releasing Update 2.0 on 21 September, a major patch that brings an overhauled perk and skills tree, vehicular combat, and upgrades to several game systems and mechanics. Cyberpunk 2077 was of course riddled with performance issues and bugs upon release in 2020, and fans are hopeful that the latest patch will drastically improve the gameplay.

The expansion can currently be pre-ordered, and it will include in-game access to the Quadra Sport R-7 “Vigilante” when Phantom Liberty launches.
